Proposal photo sessions have a unique thrill to them. There's coordinating, texting in code, hoping that the estimated timing works out, being ready for the plan (while also bracing yourself for possible impromptu last-minute swerves in the plan). They’re fun, exciting, giddy, and tender. Patrick and Lizzie’s engagement in Annapolis, Maryland was no exception (but it did go mostly according to plan!!).

I arrived before Lizzie and Patrick did so that I could check out the scene and hide out before they showed up. With two of Patrick’s close friends, we hid behind huge sailboats in a parking lot in Eastport, trying to appear as little suspicious as possible. Patrick had a sweet picnic planned on a dock with champagne, cheese, and prosciutto. He got on his knee, popped the question, and as he was proposing, the sailboat arrived at their dock! The timing of it all worked out perfectly. We started with photos on the dock, then we went out for a cute sailboat cruise. The weather was misty and rainy most of the morning, but the drizzling stopped just in time for our sailboat ride.
